CHEYENNE — For Cheyenne residents that have been patiently waiting for the downtown open container ordinance to take effect, the wait is over.
Actually, the wait was over as of Jan. 1 — and as it stands, there won't be a waiting period ever again.

The city's open container ordinance is now in effect year-round, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy beer and wine while exploring downtown Cheyenne. It's an amendment that most local entities see as a great opportunity for the city, but there are some specific rules people must follow with the ordinance.
